Is texting my customers legal in Canada?
Yes — with consent, which is exactly what Lokally manages for you. Signup keywords, QR codes, and imports all record who agreed to hear from you and when, every message identifies your business, and anyone who replies STOP is removed instantly. That's the core of CASL compliance, built in rather than bolted on.
What happens when I miss a call?
The caller hears a short greeting in your business's name and can leave a voicemail. Within seconds they also get a text from your business, so they can reply instead of calling someone else. You get an alert with their number straight away, and after-hours callers can get a different message.
Do my customers need an app or account?
No. Everything arrives as an ordinary text message on any phone. If a customer can receive a text from a friend, they can receive one from you.
Can I keep my existing business number?
Yes. Your customers keep calling the number they already know. Calls you can't answer forward to Lokally, and texts come from a local number set up just for your business.
Who writes the messages?
You start from templates written for your type of business, then adjust the wording to sound like you. The AI assistant drafts replies using only your hours, prices, and policies — you approve before anything new goes out.
Am I locked into a contract?
